Woman detained after police find crack pipe hidden in bra

By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A 39 year old woman was detained after police allegedly found a suspected crack pipe concealed inside her bra during an early morning patrol in Bella Vista Village.

According to police, officers were conducting mobile patrol on an unnamed street in the village at around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 20, when their attention was drawn to a woman riding a bicycle.

Police say the woman allegedly began acting suspiciously after noticing the officers.

An officer approached the woman, identified herself as a police officer and informed her that a search would be conducted for drugs.

During the search, police allegedly discovered a silver coloured pipe inside the woman’s bra.

The item was suspected of being used for smoking crack cocaine.

The woman was informed of the alleged offence, cautioned and taken into custody.

Police identified her as Ivis Marleny Reyes, 39, a labourer of Bella Vista Village.

She was escorted to the Bella Vista Police Sub Station, where police say she was informed of her rights in a language she understood.

Police reported that charges for possession of a pipe were pending.
