ABC Vancouver announced on Saturday that Angela Haer will not seek re-election and is no longer an ABC candidate for the Vancouver Park Board.
It added: “ABC Vancouver thanks Angela for her service to Vancouverites and remains focused on the issues and the candidates ahead of the campaign.
“We will not be making any further comments on this matter. Please direct all further questions to Angela Haer.”
Haer was a director of KidsPlay, the charity founded by Vancouver Police Constable Kalwinder (Kal) Dosanjh.
Haer’s bio on the City of Vancouver’s website states: “Angela works as an educator in Surrey, and she holds a Master’s Degree in Education from McGill University.
“A successful entrepreneur, mother of 3, and community volunteer, Angela is a long-time resident of Dunbar.”
In a comment on Facebook, Haer wrote: “I am aware of comments circulating about my past volunteer involvement with KidsPlay.
“To be clear, I have not been approached by investigators, I have not been charged, and I am not accused of any wrongdoing. I have done nothing wrong nor do I know of any wrongdoings.
“I became involved in good faith because KidsPlay’s stated work focused on children, youth sport and recreation. As a Vancouver Park Board Commissioner, supporting opportunities for young people to participate in sport was consistent with my public service.
“My role was voluntary and unpaid. I had no role in finances, banking, accounting, cheque writing, or day to day operations. My role ended in May 2025, as reflected in the registry, and I have asked that any outdated online references be corrected.
“I removed my earlier personal post for privacy and to avoid confusion. I will not comment on allegations involving other individuals.”
