Dugard Combined and Ave Maria Girls’ Primary both celebrated big wins on Wednesday, taking home the Calypso and Soca crowns at the National Primary Schools Calypso & Soca Competition.

The competition took place at Mindoo Phillip Park, bringing together young talent from all over Saint Lucia to share music, creativity, and culture.
In the calypso segment, students delivered powerful messages in their songs, using storytelling and social commentary.

Ave Maria Girls’ Primary placed fourth with “Standing Strong” by Mighty Informer. Anglican Infant took third with “What Should I Do” by Unique. Canon Laurie Anglican earned second place with “Las Manti La” by Ti Jean. Dugard Combined took first place with “Remember Me” performed by Mr Personality.
The soca segment was full of energy, impressing both the judges and the audience.
Camille Henry Memorial finished fourth with “The Rain Have Nothing on Us” by Little J. Ciceron R.C. Combined took third with “Big Dreams” by I-Scream. Carmen Rene Memorial came in second with “We Ready for Di Road” by Zizi & Kiki. Ave Maria Girls’ Primary claimed first place with an electrifying performance of “Lash Up” by Soca Storm.

Other participating schools included Morne Du Don Primary, Saltibus Combined, Gordon Walcott Memorial, Les Etangs Combined and Delcer RC Combined.
The National Secondary Schools Calypso & Soca Competition will take place on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 9:30 am at Mindoo Phillip Park in Castries. Schools such as Castries Comprehensive, Vieux Fort Comprehensive, Sir Ira Simmons Secondary and St Joseph’s Convent are among those expected to participate.
