Belize welcomes International Golfers for 2026 Tournament

By Zoila Palma:  Belize once again welcomed the international golfing community as golfers from Belize, the United States and countries across Latin America gathered for the 2026 International Golf Tournament of Belize.

Sponsored by the Belize Tourism Board, the tournament highlighted Belize’s growing appeal as a destination where sports, tourism and memorable experiences come together.

Beyond the competition on the course, the event provided international participants with an opportunity to experience Belize and its vibrant tourism offerings.

The tournament featured several competitive categories, with Kenroy Smith claiming the Gross Championship, followed by Aydan Lizarraga in second and Rupert Tatum in third. Daniel Mazaheri captured the Net Championship, while Saulito Barrera placed second and Rori Barrera third.

Other notable winners included Glenda Thompson in the Women’s Category and Julian Palma in Category B. Lorne Solis and Kenroy Smith were crowned Partner Gross Champions, while Rori Barrera and Lito Barrera took the Partner Net title. Aydan Lizarraga also secured the Longest Drive award, while several golfers captured Closest to the Pin honors.

The Belize Tourism Board congratulated all winners, participants and organizers for another successful tournament, noting the event’s role in bringing international visitors to Belize through sport.
