Anguilla has been named one of the region’s top honeymoon destinations by the editors of popular travel publication Caribbean Journal.
The island ranked fifth in the media platform’s top 10, praised for its uncrowded beaches, renowned dining scene and luxury resorts that make it an ideal spot for a romantic vacation.
In a press release, Alexander Britell, editor in chief and founder of Caribbean Journal, said the selection draws on more than 15 years of on-the-ground reporting and travel across the Caribbean.

“Our editors have stayed at these hotels, walked these beaches and eaten in these villages, and that first-hand experience is what separates a real editors’ pick from a search-driven list,” he said.
“We chose these islands because we have seen exactly what makes each one extraordinary for couples.”
Britell added that the list is as much about hotels as it is about islands: “A honeymoon lives or dies on the hotel you choose, so we built this the way we travel – hotel by hotel, island by island.”
On its website list, Caribbean Journal said Anguilla’s combination of “some of the finest beaches on Earth”, luxury accommodation and acclaimed dining made it a standout choice for honeymooners.
It described the island as “tailor-made for couples who want to vanish into luxury”, adding that its uncrowded and quiet atmosphere is “precisely its romance”.
The publication highlighted Zemi Beach House for its stylish wellness-focused facilities and Cap Juluca for its “sweep of whitewashed Moorish domes” and beachfront setting on Maundays Bay.
It also praised Anguilla’s dining scene, saying the island “rewards couples who plan their days around dinner, drifting from a barefoot lunch to a candlelit table and back to an empty beach under the stars”.
Topping Caribbean Journal’s list is Antigua and Barbuda, with the Bahamas, Barbados and Dominica in second, third and four spots.
After Anguilla, the remaining positions went to Grenada, the Turks and Caicos Islands, St Barts, Belize and Aruba.
Guy Britton, executive vice president and managing editor of Caribbean Journal, said that what sets the Caribbean apart for honeymooners is its range.
“You can have an all-inclusive in Antigua, a villa in St Barth or a rainforest hideaway in Dominica, and every one of them makes a perfect honeymoon,” he said. “That breadth is what this list is really about.”
