Donna Dafi, the German-born pop artist, releases her new single ‘Trouble’ on Friday, June 19 , under her own label, Record17.
‘The track’ is a fun and flirty pop track with elements of R&B. It explores the irresistible pull and spontaneity of attraction and desire.
Dafi describes it as: ‘Trouble’ is that feeling of getting caught up in someone who’s impossible to resist. It’s flirty, fun, and a little dangerous. The kind of attraction that feels exciting even when you know it might get you into trouble. I wanted the song to feel playful, confident and sexy, with an infectious energy that makes you want to dance, let go, and sing along.”
The music video portrays this vibe as well, as we see Donna Dafi wandering through themes of temptation, restraint, and ultimately giving in, with her moving between holding cells and interrogation rooms, leaving the viewer wondering who might be in trouble here. Her lyrics signify some self-awareness and restraint, as the lure of attraction might get her in trouble, and by the looks of it, at the end, it does.
