Duane ‘Keffe D’ Davis Found Guilty of Tupac Shakur’s Murder, Social Media Reacts
The New York Times reports that the jury deliberated for about three hours before coming to its verdict.

It took 30 years, but one of rapper Tupac Amaru Shakur’s killers has been convicted of murder in a court of law. On Monday, August 31, a Las Vegas jury found Duane Keith Davis aka Keffe D guilty of plotting the 1996 drive-by shooting of the beloved actor and rapper.
The New York Times reports that the jury deliberated for about three hours before coming to its verdict. Keefe D was found guilty of first-degree murder, among other charges.
Reportedly, the prosecution’s case, led by Deputy District Attorney Binu Palal relied heavily on Keffe D’s own words in various interviews and his own memoir, where he detailed the conspiracy to shoot Tupac.
“For nearly 18 years, Duane Davis has told the police, television, books, YouTube interviewers, anybody that will listen,” Palal said in his closing statement, according to TIME. “He has told you he is responsible for the murder of Tupac Shakur. Tell him you hear him. Find him guilty.”
As for Keffe D’s defense attorney, Michael Sanft, maintained that their client is a liar and didn’t read the book because it was just a cash grab.
“When you think about Mr. Davis’s statements, they all conflict,” Sanft told the jurors. “They conflict with the book, and they conflict with the facts. And the only thing that we have that we can agree on is that Tupac Shakur was shot and killed.”
Sanft adds that the courts aren’t giving the jurors everything. adding that “you as jurors deserve everything—in terms of the full weight of the evidence in this case. We don’t have it.”
Sentencing is set for October 13, 2006, and Keffe D is facing up to life in prison. Reactions to the long-awaited verdict are pouring in.
