Organizers of the Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival have issued an urgent advisory to patrons ahead of the festival’s highly anticipated final weekend, warning that there is NO official shuttle service operating along a busy section of the Gros Islet Highway.
Festival officials are strongly discouraging patrons from parking between the vicinity of Johnson’s Hardware, Johnson’s Centre and the Rodney Bay Commercial Centre opposite Harbor Club, citing growing traffic congestion, safety concerns and disruptions to vehicular movement.
The warning comes as thousands are expected to descend on Pigeon Island National Landmark for the festival’s final nights, including the major “World Beats” and “Ultimate Celebration” events.
According to organizers, official shuttle transportation is ONLY available from two approved access points:
• The Daren Sammy Cricket Ground Park & Ride Facility
• The designated public transportation terminal opposite the Rodney Heights Aquatic Centre
Festival officials say shuttle services will operate directly to and from the venue from these approved locations.
Patrons using the Aquatic Centre area were also warned that there is NO official parking available there, meaning motorists who choose to park in the area will do so at their own risk.
The Festival is now urging patrons to cooperate fully with police officers, traffic management personnel and event staff as authorities work to manage what is expected to be one of the busiest weekends of the 2026 festival season.
Organizers say the traffic measures are intended to ensure safer and more efficient movement of patrons throughout the remainder of the festival.
