Allison Russell has been teasing new music for months now, but finally announced her third solo album: In The Hour of Chaos is finally due out July 10 via Fantasy Records. In typical fashion for her, Russell has brought in as many collaborators as possible to share the spotlight with her. Featured guests include Norah Jones, Brittney Spencer, Devon Gilfillian, Sara Watkins, Joy Oladokun, Kara Jackson, Kashus Culpepper, Denitia, Julie Williams, Ruby Amanfu, Kyshona, Ahya Simone, Chibueze Ihuoma, and more. The Mavericks will set off on a multi-month-long tour with guest vocalists James Otto And Emily West to honor their late frontman and co-founder, Raul Malo. The run, titled "The Music Lives On Tour" and billed as "The Mavericks and Friends" begins in Kansas City in July. Visit the band's website for the full tour schedule and tickets. Craft Recordings and HighTone Records will reissue the self-titled album by bluegrass supergroup Boone Creek. Featuring Ricky Skaggs, Jerry Douglas, Wes Golding, and Terry Baucom, the band recorded its debut in 1977, but it's been long out of print. Alt-country stalwarts Lambchop announced their 17th album, Punching the Clown, due out August 21 via Merge. Listen to the beautiful ballad lead single "Weakened," which features Bon Iver's Justin Vernon on banjo below.
