*Kehlani has reached a major career milestone as the singer’s self-titled album “Kehlani” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, marking the first time the artist has led the ranking, Billboard reports.

The achievement arrives during one of the strongest chart runs of Kehlani’s career, fueled largely by the success of “Folded.” Earlier this year, the single became the singer’s first top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 after climbing to No. 6. The track also gave Kehlani a first No. 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, where it remained at the top for five weeks.

“Folded” continues to gain traction on radio as well. The song has now logged 15 weeks atop the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.

The new album opened with 69,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States during its first tracking week, according to Luminate. Streaming made up the largest share of that number, generating more than 45 million official on-demand plays across the project’s songs, while traditional album purchases contributed another 24,000 units.

The release also expanded Kehlani’s presence across several Billboard rankings. In addition to opening at No. 1 on Top R&B Albums, the project entered the Billboard 200 at No. 4.

Songs from the album made a significant impact on Hot R&B Songs as well, with 12 tracks appearing on the chart simultaneously. Ten of those entries debuted for the first time, pushing Kehlani’s total career appearances on the chart to 60.

Before this week, Kehlani had previously peaked at No. 2 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart with both “SexySweetSavage” and “It Was Good Until It Wasn’t.”
