The 3Space project in International House is currently home to London’s largest affordable workspace and a hub for community support, used by over 100 charities and community organisations.
Lambeth Council recently approved planning permission for a 288 home development that will see the closure of International House and Pop Brixton.
Ahead of the elections, local community campaign group Save Nour, Save Brixton have asked where Lambeth candidates stand on this issue:

In favour of redeveloping IH:
Says the redevelopment will deliver social housing (*though none is planned at the International House site itself)
Supports relocation plans for tenants (*tenants dispute the adequacy and viability of the support received so far)

Danny Adilypour, Councillor & Lambeth’s Deputy Leader – Streatham Common & Vale ward
In favour of redeveloping IH:
Argues the scheme will deliver needed affordable workspaces
(*International House is currently London’s biggest affordable workspace)

Voted against the redevelopment
Stated he would try to reverse the sale of International House
Raised concerns about loss of community space & the impact on Black & Global Majority residents
