Millet/Vannard are the champions of the, defeating the Babonneau Minibus team in the final played on Saturday, February 7, at the Balata Playing Field. The fixture had onlookers, including the minister himself, intrigued by the action.
The final put together two teams worthy of the battle for silverware. The Babonneau Minibus team entered the final having gone undefeated throughout the tournament.
Batting first, Babonneau Minibus scored 124-7 from their allotted overs. The innings saw a standout performance from Alvin Lafeuille, who scored a well-compiled 64 off 49 balls. Lafeuille had little support from his teammates, leading to the under par score.
In reply, Millet/Vannard made light work of the chase. The team chased down the target in just 10 overs with 8 wickets to spare. Captain Kemrol Charles led from the front, scoring a confident 48 off 31 balls to guide his team to a well-deserved victory and claiming the championship trophy and a $1,000 team cash prize in the process. Runners-up Babonneau Minibus were awarded a $500 cash prize.
A prizegiving ceremony befitting an exciting tournament was held at the end of the fixture.
