On June 18 in Nouakchott, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Republic, received Mr. Staffan de Mistura, Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary General for Western Sahara.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the latest developments regarding the Western Sahara issue and the efforts being made by the United Nations to reach a mutually acceptable political solution in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council. They also discussed ways to ensure regional stability and promote a peaceful settlement of the conflict.
