South Africa pledges continued support for SADC agenda
South Africa is interim Chair of the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
Deputy Minister in the Presidency responsible for Government Communication and Information System, Kenny Morolong, says South Africa remains committed to advancing the priorities adopted at the 45th SADC Summit.
South Africa is interim Chair of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). Morolong was speaking at the SADC Media Awards Regional Adjudication Committee Meeting in Johannesburg.
Established by the SADC Council of Ministers in 1996, the SADC Media Awards recognise excellence in journalism across the region.
Morolong says the awards celebrate journalists’ commitment to covering meaningful stories that promote regional development and cooperation.
“They are also a celebration of the journalists who help our region see itself more clearly. They encourage stories that deepen understanding of regional priorities, highlight priority initiatives, and strengthen connection among the people of Southern Africa. The quality and credibility of the awards depend on the diligence, integrity, and professionalism of the national adjudication committees and this regional adjudication committee.”
