BUKOBA: TANZANIA has continued to assess the state of preparedness of the health system as well as preventive measures against the Ebola outbreak.
To achieve this, today, the Chief Medical Officer, Dr Grace Magembe, arrived in the Kagera region to lead the team in the activity.
Dr Magembe has joined a team from the Ministry of Health, including the Director of Preventive Services, Dr Otilia Gowelle.

In addition to the Ministry’s delegation, Dr Magembe has also joined a delegation from China after the resolutions reached by the Tanzanian Minister of Health, Mohamed Mchengerwa, and the Minister of Health of the People’s Republic of China, Haichao Lei, including strengthening health services, especially in combating infectious diseases, expanding cardiac care services for children and improving natural and alternative medicine services.
The visit aims to review border screening systems, the readiness of health facilities, the availability of medical supplies, as well as the provision of education to citizens on the symptoms and ways to protect themselves against Ebola.
