The New Grand Hyatt Resort in Cancun Has Private Pools, Oceanfront Rooms, and an Opening Date

A new luxury resort is officially on the books for Cancun.

Grand Hyatt Cancun Beach Resort is now accepting reservations for stays beginning Nov. 17, marking the next major hotel debut in one of Mexico’s busiest Caribbean destinations.

The new-build resort is opening in Puerto Cancun, the mixed-use waterfront district between downtown Cancun and the Hotel Zone that has become one of the region’s fastest-growing luxury enclaves. The property will bring the Grand Hyatt brand back to Cancun with a resort focused on oceanfront accommodations, extensive dining concepts, wellness facilities, and large-scale meetings and events space.

A New Luxury Address in Puerto Cancun

The resort occupies a stretch of white-sand beachfront within Puerto Cancun, an area that combines a marina, luxury residences, golf, shopping, and direct Caribbean Sea frontage.

Guest rooms and suites feature furnished balconies overlooking either the marina or the Caribbean. Among the headline accommodations are the property’s Sanctuary rooms and suites, which include private in-room pools, an increasingly popular feature in Mexico’s luxury resort market.

The resort is positioning itself as both a leisure destination and a conference property, with more than 30,000 square feet of meeting and event facilities located on a single level.

A Major Dining Program

One of the biggest selling points is the resort’s food-and-beverage lineup.

The property is launching with 12 dining concepts, anchored by Quattro, an Italian restaurant specializing in handmade pasta, wine-focused dining, and Northern Italian cuisine.

Hyatt has not yet released the full lineup of restaurants and bars, but the number of concepts places the resort among the larger culinary programs in Cancun’s luxury segment.

Spa, Wellness, and Family Amenities

The new resort will include a full-service Grand Hyatt Spa, along with a fitness center, multiple pools, beach facilities, and wellness-focused programming.

Families will also find Camp Hyatt, Hyatt’s children’s program, alongside resort amenities that target both multigenerational vacations and longer leisure stays.

Additional amenities include valet parking, electric vehicle charging stations, concierge services, room service, and high-speed internet access throughout the property.

A Growing Luxury Corridor

Puerto Cancun has emerged as one of the most active development zones in the destination over the last several years.

The district is home to Marina Puerto Cancun, one of the area’s premier shopping and dining centers, along with luxury residential developments, yacht facilities, and golf offerings. The location places guests close to downtown Cancun while maintaining direct beach frontage along the Caribbean coast.

You can also easily reach attractions such as Isla Mujeres, the Cancun Underwater Museum, and the wider Riviera Maya corridor from the resort.

Reservations Are Now Open

The resort’s booking engine is now live, with reservations available beginning Nov. 17.

The debut adds another significant luxury option to Cancun’s hotel inventory at a time when major international brands continue expanding across the Mexican Caribbean.

With private-pool accommodations, a marina-front location in Puerto Cancun, a dozen dining venues, and extensive event facilities, it’s poised to become one of the most closely watched hotel openings in the region this year.

It’s also one of two new Grand Hyatts coming to the region right now, along with the soon-to-debut Grand Hyatt in Grand Cayman.

Where To Stay Nearby Until Opening Day

If you’re planning a Cancun getaway before November, nearby options include The SLS Cancun, The Renaissance Cancun Resort & Marina, and The Waldorf Astoria Cancun, along with a growing collection of luxury resorts throughout Puerto Cancun and the broader Cancun coastline.

Prices at the Grand Hyatt

I found rates as low as $243 for Hyatt members for a marina-view King room, and $254 if you prepay, based on Hyatt’s platform. The prices goes up to about $296 and $310, respectively, for an oceanfront King.
