Mighty Wanderers yesterday bounced back from last week’s Blantyre derby defeat to rivals FCB Nyasa Bullets with a convincing 2-0 victory over Luanar Mitundu FC in an entertaining FDH Bank Premiership encounter at Dedza Stadium.
The Nomads dominated possession from the opening stages and looked dangerous going forward, although Mitundu also threatened on the counterattack.

Wanderers created the first clear chance in the 15th minute when captain Emmanuel Nyirenda linked up well with Muhammad Sulumba, but the final delivery was poorly executed and cleared away.
Mitundu nearly took the lead four minutes later through a move involving Vincent Nyangulu, Samson Phiri and Daah Rashid, but Wanderers cleared the danger before Rashid could apply the finishing touch.
The visitors punished the hosts moments later as Adam Wallace sparked an attack before Sulumba headed in from the edge of the box, to calmly beat goalkeeper Austin Chirambo to make it 1-0.
Mitundu coach Oscar Kaunda responded with an early substitution in the 22nd minute, replacing injured goalkeeper Chirambo with Omary Hamis.
Despite pressure from the hosts, Wanderers remained solid at the back with goalkeeper Dalitso Khungwa producing crucial saves to preserve the lead.
The Nomads doubled their advantage in the 32th minute after Blessing Singini headed in Rajab Nyirenda corner kick past Hamis.
Wanderers went into the break with a deserved 2-0 lead and continued to control proceedings after recess despite several substitutions from both sides.
Coach Bob Mponganjita later introduced Mphatso Kamanga, Lameck Mithi, Dalitso Nahipa, Blessings Mwalilino and Chifundo Kamenya as the visitors comfortably cruised to their second win in three matches.
The victory moved Wanderers to fifth place with six points.
In a post-match interview, Mpinganjira said it was good to bounce back after losing to Bullets.
On his part, Kaunda congratulated Wanderers.
He said: “Losing 2-0 against defending champions is not that bad.”
Elsewhere, Kamuzu Barracks registered their first victory after defeating Creck Sporting Club 3-1 at Aubrey Dimba Stadium in Mchinji.
Chitipa United defeated Civil Service United 1-0 at Chitipa Stadium.
At Mpira Stadium in Chiwembe Township, Blantyre, Ekhaya FC beat Moyale Barracks 2-0.
