Four suspects were arrested in Magaliesburg on Tuesday and will be profiled and have the recovered firearms taken for ballistic testing to determine if they were used in any commission of crime.
A total of eight AK-47 rifles and seven empty magazines were seized by police.
Gauteng police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi says, “The members were patrolling on the R24 when they noticed a Volvo truck with a Namibian registration number parked on the side of the road and a Mazda sedan behind it. As the team observed the vehicles, two men carried a mielie bag from the truck into the boot of the Mazda. Members swiftly approached the occupants.
