FOLLOWING a lengthy investigation into a male trafficking illicit drugs in Campbell River, the Campbell River RCMP Street Crime Unit with the assistance of the Crime Reduction Unit, Major Crime Unit, Police Dog Services and frontline policing executed a search warrant on April 16 on a short term vacation rental in the rural Merville area south of Campbell River.
In total, 780 grams of suspected cocaine, 310 grams of suspected fentanyl, and over $13,000 was located and seized.
A 31-year-old male from Burnaby was arrested in Campbell River in connection with the search warrant. The male was later released with a first court appearance of June 29.
