Man who reportedly fell during ABLP motorcade dies

A 33-year-old man died at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre after spending nearly two weeks on life support, with reports linking his condition to a fall from a truck during a political motorcade.

According to reports, the man — a resident of Newfield — was admitted to the hospital on 26th April and had been on life support since that date. Sources indicate he was allegedly found unresponsive with blood coming from his eyes, reportedly following a fall from a truck during an Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party motorcade.

According to sources at the hospital, the patient was last seen alive at approximately 4 a.m. on the day of his passing. A subsequent check carried out around 4:30 a.m. found him unresponsive. Reports are that resuscitation efforts were made but proved unsuccessful.

The Coroner was reportedly informed and gave permission for the removal of the body. The deceased’s remains were subsequently taken to a local funeral home at the request of family.

No official cause of death has been publicly confirmed at this stage.

Inquiries are ongoing.
