*A new short film tackling conversations around Black women’s health is headed to the 2026 American Black Film Festival, with a teaser trailer now available ahead of its debut. “Her Pretty Vagina” has been selected for the festival and will make its World Premiere as part of the event’s upcoming lineup.

The project stars Taylor Polidore Williams, known for her roles in “Beauty in Black” and “Snowfall.” Behind the camera is Kiah Clingman, who makes her directorial debut with the film after appearing in “Reasonable Doubt” and “The Resident,” and producing “Color Book.”

The film places women’s health issues at the center of its story. The narrative follows Kaleigh, a young woman struggling with the effects of undiagnosed and untreated endometriosis while also dealing with the aftermath of contracting the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) from her live-in partner.

As Kaleigh seeks answers and care, the film examines the broader challenges that can shape medical experiences for Black women. Through her journey, the story explores the personal, emotional, and systemic obstacles that often accompany conversations about reproductive and sexual health.

The title itself signals the film’s intention to address topics that are frequently left out of public discussion. According to the filmmakers, the project was created to encourage more open dialogue around cervical cancer and healthcare disparities affecting Black women.

“This film is about what happens when we stop being polite about women’s health. So many women are walking around with pain, shame, fear and abnormal test results they don’t quite understand … silently suffering. This film starts the conversation out loud — in public, with honesty, comedy and a bit of surreal chaos,” said Clingman.

The World Premiere at ABFF will include a question-and-answer session with the film’s creator and director, offering audiences an opportunity to engage directly with the themes behind the project. The film will screen at ABFF on Saturday, May 30, at 8:40 p.m. in Screening Room 2 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

With the release of its teaser trailer ahead of the festival, the filmmakers hope the conversation begins well before viewers take their seats for the screening.

ABFF 2026, themed “Homecoming,” will take place May 27-31 in Miami.
