In the latest episode of “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Angela celebrates her mother, and Shamea has a breakdown as she clashes with multiple people in the group. Here are the highlights for “The Glow Up Cost.”
Does Shamea need therapy?
The episode begins with Cynthia visiting Angela at her home. They discuss Cynthia’s recent conversation with Shamea. Cynthia thinks Shamea could just be stressed out about her mother’s health and giving Gerald a son. But when Cynthia suggested Shamea get in therapy, Shamea said she didn’t have the time.
Angela thinks one should make time for therapy, and not going to therapy is currently why Shamea is having tension with people in the group. Regardless, Angela wants to do an uplifting event to honor her mother’s memory. And Cynthia thinks a game of basketball with Charles as the referee should suffice. So it’s time for another Bailey Bowl.
Kelli meets with a financial planner to get her finances back on track. As she confirms how much she spends monthly, the conversation becomes uncomfortable. It is even hard for Kelli to fathom cutting back on how much she spends on her dog.
Angela’s therapist helps her and her daughter move forward.
Angela’s daughter, Ahmauri, comes over. They have had tension since Ahmauri married a woman. The issue is that Angela wants Ahmauri to tell her younger siblings about her marriage, but Ahmauri doesn’t feel comfortable. So Angela hopes a session with her therapist, Dr. Wendy, can help.
When they meet with Dr. Wendy, Angela and Ahmauri acknowledge that it has been harder for them to communicate because Angela’s mother is not there to mediate anymore.
Cynthia and Angela host the second Bailey Bowl in honor of Angela’s mother. Shamea and Angela take their beef to the court, and Angela is victorious.
Shamea breaks down.
After the game is over, Angela confronts Shamea about telling the group that she came for her marriage. Angela doesn’t see it that way and tells the others she only responded after Shamea was messy about her marriage first. Cynthia questions why there is still bad blood between Shamea and Drew, and Drew says Shamea left when they tried to hash things out the last time.
When Pinky questions if Shamea and K. are still good, Shamea is confused by the question. In a green screen interview, K. Michelle says she didn’t want to discuss her issue with Shamea because it seemed like she was getting piled on by the others. But she will talk to Shamea because the comments Shamea made about her Atlanta friends not wanting her to be cool with K. Michelle need to be addressed.
In a confessional, Shamea says she is frustrated because she was ganged up on. She becomes emotional and says it seems like people don’t want her on the show anymore and it’s hurtful.
