By Zoila Palma: Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children Rossana Briceño is encouraging Belizeans to support sustainable food practices and work toward ensuring that everyone has access to nutritious food as Belize joins the international community in observing World Food Day 2026.
This year’s theme, “Innovate Today. Nourish Tomorrow,” highlights the importance of developing solutions that address food insecurity, reduce waste and promote sustainable food systems for future generations.
“As we recognize the importance of nutritious food, let us support sustainable practices and work together to ensure everyone has access to the nourishment they need to thrive,” Briceño said.
World Food Day is observed annually on October 16 to raise awareness about hunger, nutrition and sustainable agriculture.
