Summer in Windmill Gardens

We are looking forward to a busy few months at the Windmill Centre. We’ll be welcoming lots of nursery and primary school pupils for workshops – summer term is always a popular choice for school trips.

A big thanks to Chloe our learning facilitator and our education volunteers for delivering our learning programme.  Our Family Baking Workshops are almost fully booked and tickets are now on sale for Romeo & Juliet in the park on Friday 3 July.

Art in the Park runs on Sunday 9 August – with free art and craft workshops for everyone.

The park is looking lovely – with new hedges beginning to flourish and summer wild flowers beginning to bloom. Thanks to all our gardening volunteers for continuing to help out in the park – our next gardening volunteering session is on Saturday 6 June – everyone is welcome along!

June Open Weekend

We are now gearing up for our next Open Weekend. Guided tours of the windmill are booking up quickly and we have guided walks on both Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th this month. Our shop and cafe will also be open so do pop in for unique windmill gifts and a refreshing drink or ice cream.

Open Air Theatre – Friday 3 July, 7pm

BOOK HERE

This summer, we’re delighted to welcome back The Dot Collective in partnership with Open Bar Theatre as they both celebrate 10 wonderful years of bringing professional open-air performances to community spaces near and far.

And what better way to mark the occasion than with Shakespeare’s most iconic love story, Romeo and Juliet.

Guests are invited to become part of the celebration – bring a picnic, buy a drink or ice cream from our cafe, gather with friends, and soak up the festival spirit beneath the open sky.

Whether you’re a devoted Shakespeare lover or simply searching for a unique summer experience, this promises to be outdoor theatre at its most joyful and atmospheric.
