*Public outrage continues to build in Northern California after a video showed Fairfield police officer Bianca Camacho striking a Black high school student during an arrest. This incident has triggered calls for accountability and prompted another woman to come forward with allegations involving the same officer.

The controversy centers on the arrest of Fairfield High School student Maurice Williams, whose family says he was subjected to excessive force during an encounter on campus last week. Video of the arrest quickly spread online, fueling criticism from community members and advocates.

“The Same Thing Happened to Me”

Now, 19-year-old Myah Hamilton says the footage immediately reminded her of her own arrest nearly a year ago—an encounter that also involved Camacho.

Hamilton told ABC7 News Bay Area that watching Williams’ arrest brought back painful memories.

“The same thing that happened to that poor boy happened to me,” Hamilton told ABC7.

Her comments have intensified scrutiny surrounding Camacho, who has become the focus of growing community concern following the release of the school-arrest video.

According to ABC7, Hamilton was 18 years old when she was pulled over for speeding and failing to yield to emergency lights. Cellphone video from that traffic stop shows her being arrested by Camacho, the same officer now facing questions over the Williams incident.

Hamilton’s criminal case remains pending, but she says the similarities between the two encounters are difficult to ignore.

Family Says Teen Was “Beaten Like a Dog”

The latest controversy began after video surfaced from Fairfield High School showing officers taking Williams into custody during an on-campus incident.

Fairfield Police Chief Dan Marshall later described Camacho’s actions as “distraction strikes,” a characterization strongly disputed by the teenager’s family.

Family members said Williams was “beaten like a dog,” a description that quickly gained attention online as debate intensified over whether excessive force was used.

The footage sparked widespread criticism across social media and throughout the community, with many viewers questioning Camacho’s actions during the arrest.

For Hamilton, the video was especially difficult to watch because she says it echoed her own experience.

Officer Reassigned as Investigation Continues

Amid mounting criticism, the Fairfield Police Department announced that Camacho has been administratively reassigned while the incident is reviewed.

In a statement released Friday, Marshall said the department is navigating what he described as an emotional and challenging situation.

“The officer has been administratively reassigned in the department as we navigate this emotional and challenging time,” Marshall said in a statement obtained by ABC7 News Bay Area.

Officials have not announced whether additional disciplinary action could follow, and the department has not provided a timetable for the review.

While the reassignment represents the department’s first public response, critics argue it does not address broader concerns raised by the two recorded encounters involving Camacho.

Advocates Point to a Pattern

Community advocates say the similarities between the Williams and Hamilton incidents deserve closer examination.

Berry Accius of Voice of the Youth told ABC7 News Bay Area that the incidents should not be viewed independently.

“This is a pattern of aggression, this is a pattern of excessive force, this is a pattern that Fairfield PD is allowing to have happen in this community,” Accius told ABC7.

Accius and other advocates are calling for greater transparency as the investigation continues.

Some residents have gone further, demanding Camacho’s termination and questioning why stronger action was not taken following Hamilton’s arrest.

Pressure Continues to Mount

Hamilton said she believes concerns about Camacho’s conduct should have been addressed long before the recent arrest of Williams.

During her interview with ABC7, Hamilton became emotional while discussing the encounter and at times struggled to hold back tears.

“She should have never been able to continue to be a police officer, they call you guys peace officers to bring peace, not to sit there and bring commotion and cause more problems than there already was,” Hamilton told ABC7.

As public attention remains fixed on the case, community leaders say they will continue pressing for answers about both incidents and the department’s response.

For many residents, Camacho’s reassignment has done little to ease concerns, with calls for accountability continuing as investigators review the officer’s actions.
