YoungstaCPT Celebrates 10 Years Of “Wes-Kaap” With Special Two-City Anniversary Shows. South African hip-hop star YoungstaCPT is celebrating a decade of his iconic anthem “Wes-Kaap,” a song that has become a defining soundtrack for Cape Town and a symbol of Western Cape pride.
Originally released in 2016 on the mixtape The Cape and Good Dope alongside producer Ganja Beatz, “Wes-Kaap” quickly established itself as more than just a hip-hop record. Built around a familiar sample from Dr. Dre’s classic “The Next Episode,” the track transformed into a bold celebration of Cape Town’s culture, identity, and unique slang.
