Airport Customs exceeds target, collects D19M in April despite global crisis

But my staff capitalised on consignments coming into The Gambia,” she said. The manager however highlighted ongoing challenges. She cited the need to replace scanners at the terminal, as well as shortages of chairs and computers. Commissioner of Customs Alhagie K. Mbye commended the Airport Customs leadership for its cooperation with sister agencies and consistent delivery on targets. “In recent years she has proven her office’s commitment in attaining their set monthly target,” Mbye said. He urged staff to maintain team spirit to boost GRA’s image. GRA Board Chairperson expressed satisfaction with the revenue performance. He hailed Mendy Samba as a hardworking manager with determination to meet set targets. “We are proud of her leadership. Despite global challenges, her office performed extremely well,” he said. Commissioner General Yankuba Darboe urged staff to uphold professionalism, integrity, discipline, and respect for leadership. “The Airport is the entry point. Any kind of human being passes through here. Be punctual and protect the image of GRA,” he said. Darboe warned against mismanagement. “GRA will not compromise. Every butut must be accounted for. If anyone is found wanting, you will face the consequences,” he said. He assured staff that management would tackle the challenges raised and thanked the Airport Customs team for helping GRA meet its annual revenue target.
