Cayo Northeast Area Representative overwhelmingly endorses Aaron Mai for Mayor

By Zoila Palma:  Cayo Northeast Area Representative and Former Mayor Orlando Habet has overwhelmingly endorsed Councilor Aaron Mai for Mayor of San Ignacio and Santa Elena.

Mai has publicly announced his bid as the PUP candidate for Mayor of San Ignacio and Santa Elena and will face off with 4-term Mayor Earl Trapp.

“Aaron Mai is a true leader in all the definition of leadership. Aaron is a good listener, humble, reliable, confident, sharing, respectful, diligent, participatory, outgoing yes, but inclusive and as mentioned on this post, looks forward to equity between the Twin Towns.

The Twin Towns are ready for new leadership. Leadership that looks at the functions of the Council beyond mere infrastructure and garbage maintence. We are ready for modernizing our beautiful towns with its lovely landscape. Ready for technology and innovation, inclusiveness of youth, elderly and women in development. In discussions with Aaron, he sees the promotion of Arts, Culture and entrepreneurship for new enterprises,” Habet stated.

Habet further lauded Mai for his futuristic thinking as Aaron speaks of seeing a Santa Elena grow together with San Ignacio.

“He sees his work to be bolstered by close work with the area representatives so as to combine resources for municipal development.

When asked about accountability, he wants to bring back Municipal Town Hall meetings so that rhe public can have an opportunity to opine on the plans for development but also to hear of the finances of the council that include profits from the Municipal fair which have been absent going for 23 years,” Habet further added.

Habet says that he has trust and confidence in the people of the Twin Towns.

“And I know that they will bring the change long awaited to our beautiful towns come next March.

I too will be there to support my friend Aaron Mai,” Habet added.
