Today, rising soul force EJ Jones (Quality Control Music) releases his timely new single, “Luh Mo’ Love” and its official music video, adding to the proud lineage of purposeful soul music that unites listeners for positive change. Backed by a warm groove, “Luh Mo’ Love,” which EJ co-produced and co-wrote, shows the fresh talent at his strongest creative level yet. Stream the rousing anthem “Luh Mo’ Love”.
Channeling the spirit of Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Goin’ On,” EJ urges listeners to look inside themselves, singing “Listen, you find a good love you got to keep it/Tell me why we gotta act hard, like we don’t need it.” He, too, could fall victim to his circumstances (“I lost my mama to the streets / I lost my daddy to the streets… I got every reason to be mad at the whole world”) but begs us all to avoid the temptations of hate and to choose to love another instead. In the video, EJ contrasts a dangerous, black-and-white world of hateful choices with its better counterpart where faith and resilience – a nod to his own church upbringing – inspire the community to lead a block party in a display of shared love.
“Luh Mo’ Love” arrives at the peak of a sharp ascent. Last year, a viral cover of Sam Cooke’s “A Change is Gonna Come” caught the attention of Quality Control Music co-founder Kevin “Coach K” Lee and earned EJ a deal with the label. Soon after, a viral rendition of Bobby Caldwell’s “What You Won’t Do for Love” and standout performances on From the Block and Cadillac Chronicles solidified EJ’s credentials as a musician’s musician with mainstream appeal.
Capitalizing on the momentum, EJ wrapped the year with the smash hit “Gas Station Love,” which exploded to more than 30 million streams, earned a highly-celebrated remix with multi-platinum rapper BigxthaPlug and broke into the top 15 of Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs, Adult R&B Airplay and Rhythmic Airplay charts. He earned placements on Billboard, Complex and Pandora Artists to Watch lists for 2026 and was named a YouTube Trending Artist on the Rise. Confirming the endorsements, EJ wowed audiences on the Blues Is Alright Tour in spring 2026, holding his own alongside soul legends including King George, Tucka and Lenny Williams. Combined, his social platforms have surged past 1 million followers.
Now, as he puts the final touches on his first project, 23-year-old EJ Jones – “The Chosen Child” – is ready to lead soul music into a vibrant next chapter. Steeped in Memphis’ rich soul traditions, his spirited vocals and passionate lyricism advance a classic American sound for a new generation.
