Kitara Football Club and Sports Club Villa are tied 1-goal apiece by the half way mark of the 2025/26 Stanbic Uganda Cup final at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.
Under sunny weather conditions, these two sides remain all square after the opening 45 minutes of the physical action.
Forward Patrick Henry Kaddu beat his own goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige for Sports Club Villa’s opener after 12 minutes.
The joy was short lived when midfielder Missi Diego Ssemugera diverted a teasing corner kick from Gadafi Wahab past his own goalkeeper David “Raya” Lukwago in the 13th minute.
Kaddu limped out for Chrispus Asiki in the 34th minute.
Moments after being introduced Asiki missed a one-on-one moment with goalkeeper Lukwago for a would-be second goal for the Royals.
Only Kitara defender Murushid Juuko is the cautioned party in the physical contest of the duel played under scorching sun.
There is a lot to play for in the closing 45 minutes as it is a winner-takes-it all affair for the trophy and a slot to represent the country at the CAF Confederation Cup.
SC Villa seeks for the 10th title while Kitara targets their second.
