Soludo again vows crackdown on fake pastors, native doctors in Anambra

Governor Charles Soludo has again vowed to take down fake pastors and self-acclaimed native doctors operating in Anambra State, warning that his administration will no longer tolerate activities capable of misleading residents and promoting criminality.

Speaking during a town hall meeting in Awka on Monday, May 11, Soludo said the state government was committed to sanitising the religious and traditional sectors to restore sanity and public trust.

The governor stressed that some individuals hiding under religion and traditional practices were deceiving desperate youths with false promises of instant wealth and protection from security agencies.

“We will not allow fake pastors and criminal native doctors to continue deceiving our people. Anyone found promoting criminality or preparing charms for illegal activities will face the law,” he said.

He added that security agencies had been directed to intensify surveillance across communities and ensure that perpetrators were arrested and prosecuted.

Governor Soludo also urged residents to be vigilant and report suspicious activities to relevant authorities, insisting that the fight against crime requires collective responsibility.
