TMPD impounds 58 public transport vehicles for non-compliance
The TMPD impounded 58 public transport vehicles for failing to comply with the NLT Act.

Fifty-eight public transport vehicles, including taxis, scholar transport vehicles and e-hailing services, have been impounded in Tshwane for non-compliance with the National Land Transport Act.
The impoundments were carried out during road safety operations conducted by Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) officers across the city throughout the week.
TMPD says the operations form part of ongoing efforts to enforce road traffic regulations and improve safety for commuters and other road users.
TMPD spokesperson Puleng Motholo says authorities will continue to take action against operators who fail to comply with the law.
Motholo says, “These ongoing operations are an essential part of the department commitment to curb lawlessness and ensure the safety of commuters and other road users. It is crucial for public transport operators to adhere to road traffic regulations in order to save lives and avoid impoundment of their vehicles. The TMPD will not leave any stone unturned when it comes to enforcement of the law in the City of Tshwane.”
The metro police have urged public transport operators to ensure that they comply with all legal and safety requirements to avoid penalties and vehicle impoundments.
