5X Fest 2026, returns May 15 to 17 with three days of programming across Vancouver and Surrey, bringing together the artists, industry voices, creatives, and communities shaping the sound and future of Panjabi and South Asian culture.
Presented by the Vancouver International Bhangra Celebration Society, 5X Fest 2026 continues to be one of Canada’s most important platforms for diasporic Panjabi music, art, and creative expression. What began as a celebration of bhangra has evolved into a cultural force, spotlighting emerging artists, building community, and creating space for South Asian talent to be seen, heard, and taken seriously.
This year’s festival includes 5X Access, an invite-only industry gathering; the iconic 5X Art Party, rooted in the theme of Adhikar, meaning the power of claiming and reclaiming space, identity, and creative ownership; the flagship 5X Blockparty at Surrey Civic Plaza; the official 5X Afterparty; and a one-night-only 15-Year World Tour experience with globally renowned Punjabi artist Inkquisitive.
“5X has always been about more than putting artists on a stage,” says Neesha Hothi, Executive Director of 5X Fest. “It is about building the infrastructure, visibility, and cultural confidence our community deserves. This year’s festival reflects where Panjabi and South Asian creativity is right now, but also where it is going next.”
The flagship 5X Blockparty takes place Saturday, May 16 at Surrey Civic Plaza and features a lineup of some of the most exciting artists shaping the sound of Panjabi music today, including Juno-nominated hitmakers Chani Nattan and Inderpal Moga, Supreme Sidhu making his highly anticipated Vancouver debut, and rising voices like Simar representing the next wave. Other featured artists include: Bhalwaan and Signature by SB, DJ Frenzy, Raj Singh Hayre, GAV, Japjeet Sandhu, Merza, 40K, and more surprises.
From globally recognized names to rising local talent, the 5X Blockparty captures the full spectrum of Panjabi creativity. The free outdoor event will feature food trucks, a vendor village, and a 19+ VIP section, bringing the culture, the energy, and the movement to one unforgettable stage.
