On Saturday evening, Saint Lucia beat Antigua & Barbuda 34-14. Charlery made 31 out of 37 shots, missing only once in the fourth quarter, while Ferdinand scored on all three of her attempts. Antigua & Barbuda took 28 shots and made half of them.

In the match against Dominica, Charlery scored 13 out of 16 and Ferdinand made 10 out of 12, helping Saint Lucia win 23-17. Dominica made 53% of their 33 shots. “Big congrats to Team Saint Lucia on their second victory of the tournament,” said Netball Saint Lucia on their social pages. “Not our best showing, but we got the job done, on to the next!”

After finishing third last year, Saint Lucia will need to beat the Cayman Islands on Monday evening and Grenada on Tuesday afternoon to keep that spot. The tournament gets tougher on Wednesday, when they face defending champions and hosts Trinidad & Tobago, before finishing against Barbados on Thursday.

The Saint Lucia squad has 15 players, including 11 making their tournament debut, such as James and Clarke. The team represents eight schools and several communities, and is led by head coach Shem Maxwell, assistant coach Jo-Ann Anderson and team manager Alice Lynch.
