Trans Anguilla Airways expands global reach through major travel booking system

Trans Anguilla Airways has expanded its booking reach by joining a global distribution system (GDS) used by travel agents and tour operators worldwide.

The move enables the Anguillian-owned airline to be accessed through major travel distribution platforms, improving visibility and making its regional services easier to access.

It marks a key step in the airline’s development, strengthening connectivity across the eastern Caribbean and supporting broader efforts to enhance Anguilla’s tourism and transport infrastructure.

The Anguilla Tourist Board announced the new connection in a press release on 15 June, in which it congratulated the company on its “significant milestone”.

Tourism director Jameel Rochester said: “Their growth represents not only a success for aviation but also a success for Anguilla’s tourism industry and wider economy.

“Enhanced visibility through the GDS platform creates greater accessibility for travellers and strengthens regional connectivity, which remains a critical component of sustainable tourism development.”

Trans Anguilla Airways offers both charter and scheduled air services connecting Anguilla with neighbouring islands throughout the region.

Vernol Gumbs, managing director of Trans Anguilla Airways, said: “This achievement represents years of hard work, dedication and belief in the future of regional aviation.

“Being live on the GDS platform allows us to significantly expand our reach and provide greater convenience for travellers and travel professionals alike.

“We are proud to represent Anguilla throughout the region and remain committed to delivering reliable service while continuing to grow our network and partnerships.”

Rochester commended Gumbs and his team for their continued vision, commitment and investment in the region.

Trans Anguilla Airways launched its new 45-minute direct air route linking Anguilla and the British Virgin Islands on 17 April.
