Maputo (MOZTIMES) - The Mozambican government says it is accelerating fiscal consolidation measures as it seeks a new financial support programme with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), amid ongoing efforts to stabilize public finances and strengthen economic resilience.

Government spokesperson and Minister of Development Salim Vala made this announcement on Tuesday during a press briefing following a meeting of the Council of Ministers, where officials highlighted continued progress in fiscal and structural reforms.
